  • Alternate Character Interpretation: While Bill claimed that he had only planned on killing Danny due to his outrage over Danny's decision to sell the business, only murdering the others due to getting carried away, the fact that his actual first victim was Linda (while she was outside and on her way home, no less) and the clear sadistic relish that he took in mutilating and posing the remains of his victims makes things seem less like a crime of passion followed by Crime After Crime and more like someone simply snapping and deciding to commit a massacre For the Evulz.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: When the killer is stabbed in the chest, he falls over and the knife (defying the laws of physics) inexplicably flies out of his chest and lands next to him.
  • Cliché Storm: Uses pretty much every slasher movie trope in the book. Of course, everyone involved seems well aware of this, and they're clearly just having a lot of fun making the movie.
  • Fight Scene Failure: The fight between Craig and the employees looks really awkward.
  • Nightmare Retardant: Recognizing that some of the music accompanying the scary scenes was later used in SpongeBob SquarePants, rather memorably in one episode whose premise also involved a food-related establishment being "intruded" into after hours by another supposed (Hash-Slinging) slasher.
  • Paranoia Fuel: Just think of how easy it would be to go on a murderous rampage against the night crew of closed down store.
  • Squick: Jennifer unknowingly stepping on an eyeball.
  • The Un-Twist: Even if you haven't seen the trailers or some VHS covers, It's still pretty clear who the killer is when you see his clothes. And even without looking at his clothes, it's pretty easy to guess. Bill is last seen arguing with Danny, the first victim, and is suspiciously absent while the mysterious killer is slaughtering the other employees.
