- Values Dissonance: An interesting example. Bacchus is reflective of the values of the time: he is quick to judge, willing to use violence, misogynistic, racist, and homophobic. Gently, on the other hand, is much more accepting of people who are different, and only truly hates remorseless criminals. This means that Bacchus is of his time but, to a modern audience, quickly looks like more than a bit of a jerk at least, while Gently is pretty much the opposite.
