Heartwarming / Inspector George Gently

• Bacchus has always been a bit at odds with Gently, mostly because of their profoundly different methods and ideologies. The entire episode of "Gently in the Cathedral" seems to be the logical conclusion to this clash, with Bacchus siding with the younger detective in the Met who's more like him. He still goes out, unarmed, to try and save Gently. And he gets shot for his attempt.
  Bacchus: I'm always on your side, Guv.
  Gently: Yeah, I know. And I'm sorry.
• Would be a Funny Moment if it wasn't so poignant, but:
  Gently: I like you when you're a bastard.
  Bacchus: I had a good teacher.
