YMMV / IDOLiSH7

Go To

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: A number of characters can be subject to this, but out of the main cast, Tenn is most often the victim of this.
  • Awesome Music: It's a game about idols and their songs. What do you expect?
  • Broken Base: The anime announcement broke the base on both sides of the Pacific. While some are in favor of the adaptation and are glad I7 is getting more exposure, others are afraid of what that exposure will do to fandom as a whole and to events and ranking in the game specifically. Luckily, it hasn't seemed to have a huge impact as a whole and has brought the game's popularity up with the anime adaptation.
  • Captain Obvious Reveal: Gaku actually being the soba guy is a more humorous play on this, but Banri being connected to Re:vale and Kujou having custody of Aya were figured long before Part 2 even started.
  • Fan-Preferred Couple: Of all of the ships Tsumugi has, she's usually paired up with Gaku the most.
    • On the Ho Yay side of things, Tamaki/Sougo, Iori/Riku, Yuki/Momo, Tenn/Riku, and Yamato/Mitsuki/Nagi are the most popular.
    • For ships between the idol groups, Sougo/Ryuunosuke has also been picking up steam.
  • Fandom Rivalry: With fellow idol mobile game Ensemble Stars!, and even more with Uta No Prince-sama considering accusations of I7 ripping it off.
  • Fan Nickname:
    • Fans use respective units' (minus MEZZO") debut songs for their unit names as they were not given official names.
      • Fly Away! for Iori and Riku's unit name.
      • Pythagoras trio for Yamato, Mitsuki and Nagi's unit name.
  • Ho Yay: Now with its own page.
  • It Was His Sled: Riku and Tenn are twins.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • Three years old.Explanation
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: ZOOL, especially Torao, became significantly more popular with fans after they were given some much needed character development.
  • Shocking Moments: A number of chapters count, but the winner far and away are the chapter 4 side stories, featuring the supposed "bomb threat" that made Nagi, Tamaki, and Yamato late to TRIGGER's concert. Turns out that bomb threat was very, very real. Nagi got mistaken for the smuggler (who was also from northern Europe), kicked a couple of terrorists' asses, and managed to pull Yamato out of the way of sniper fire; Tamaki unwittingly carried the motion-sensitive bomb; and Yamato basically put his life on the line to fake-out the mastermind.
  • Tear Jerker: Can be seen here.
  • That One Level: Some of the event maps can count as this, as well as a few of the story-lock lives.
  • The Woobie: Many, many of the characters have various issues and troubling backstories that formed them into the people we know them as today. Not to mention, the plot doesn't really make it easier on them as IDOLISH7 gains popularity and other groups come into the field. Quite frankly, it might be easier to list who isn't.
  • Visual Effects of Awesome: The CG used in the series' PVs, despite their low framerates, are very warmly received for how detailed, expressive, and dynamic they can be, especially in comparison to other 3D models in their competitors. In motion they don't look too bad either.
