• Ensemble Dark Horse: Odi.
• Fridge Horror:
  • Niska's reaction to the pedophile at the brothel becomes doubly understandable when she reveals that she's only nine years old and her creator/"father" "did not always treat me as a child."
  • The revelation that Mia was conscious the entire time she was Anita makes several scenes a lot more disturbing, especially her revelation to Joe that she "felt everything" when he had sex with her. It also makes the scene in which Laura tests Anita's reaction to pain a lot more disturbing as Anita pushes a toothpick into her eye! If the Synths really can feel pain the same way that humans do then Mia must have been in agony.
• Jerk Ass Woobie: Niska is generally abrasive and eager to perform violence on humans who 'deserve it'. However... it's very easy to see why she ended up so angry, when you see the awful things that happened to her.
• Retroactive Recognition: Gemma Chan (Anita/Mia) has gone on to international stardom in films like Crazy Rich Asians and Eternals.
• Stoic Woobie: Niska rarely shows emotion, and she has endured much suffering.
• Squick: Niska cutting out her security chip and the fact that Leo's charging port is a raw, open wound that is revealed to be infected. Yuck.
• The Woobie: Odi was pretty huggable as a synth but really becomes this after he develops consciousness.
