YMMV / Hotel for Dogs

• Adaptation Displacement: A small number of fans are aware of the original book and its differences.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Emma Roberts plays a dog-lover who runs the titular hotel for dogs in this film, which is ironic as later on she would appear in an episode of American Horror Story: Cult where she plays a reporter doing a story on a pet adoption fair and in contrast to Emma's character in this film, actually dislikes holding a dog while doing a coverage.
• So Okay, It's Average: While considered a perfectly-serviceable children's movie, it's also considered to be nothing special and lacking in appeal to any other age group.
• Special Effects Failure: Considering that the dogs' performances are 100% real, it's embarrassing that one building is conspicuously CGI (and bad CGI at that).
