- What happened to the original hotel? Why did they abandon it and leave everything there? Like those dresses? Why would someone just leave all their stuff behind and never come back for it?
- From what I got, it was an old hotel/store that fell into a decline a long time ago.
- Why did Karl and Lois want to be foster parents when they clearly have no time for children?
- Wanted the money more than anything and covered it up well around other people. Garnering a good reputation. Wanting the "ideal family" without wanting to put actual work into it. Or anything else.
