YMMV / Horace

Go To

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: The Man in Black if Horace saves him. Was he genuinely feeling remorseful after Horace came to his aid, and wanted to make up for it, only for everyone to shoot him down? Or was he just BS-ing a hasty apology to save his own hide that everyone saw right through?
  • Complete Monster: The Man in Grey is one of the leaders of "The Great and the Good" who believes robots should be enslaved to humanity. Using the robot Horace to create warlike robots to kill each other, the Man in Grey flees alongside the world's leaders to escape when they rebel, leaving the rest of mankind to be slaughtered. Once Horace calms the warring robots with the NICE virus, the Man in Grey and his superior, the Man in Black, force Horace to watch while they kill his loved ones before dismantling Horace and trying to kill him. Helping the Man in Black attempt to wipe out all robots and replace them with ones devoid of free will, the Man in Grey tries to kill the survivors and even brags about all the people he tortured and killed as a CIA agent.
  • Funny Moments:
    • Mr. Silton explains that, in order to pull off a rescue, they need their best and brightest minds on the job.
Mr. Silton: (to Preston, unprompted) Not you, dipshit.
    • During the tournament of games, there is a Billy Mitchell robot. When Horace wins against him, a referee pulls out a tape of a "better" time than Horace had gotten.
  • Moment of Awesome:
    • Horace versus a Kill Bot. A human-sized robot versus a multi-story mechanical war machine. Horace wins.
    • On the Moon, all of the family is about to be executed. Logan, however, flips the hell out, twists around a guard, and uses his minigun to blow away several other soldiers while using the guard's body as a human shield. It was his action that let the majority of the family escape and return home, turning a hopeless situation into a somewhat-salvageable one.
    • Mr. Silton versus the Man in Grey. Just when it seems he's lost, and while the Man in Grey is taunting him and lights a cigarette for Silton just before he shoots him...
Man in Grey: "You're out of your depth. I'm a professional. I've killed for the CIA."
Mr. Silton: "Yeah? And I'm a right proper c***."
    • He then smashes the lit cigarette into the Man in Grey's eye, blinding him, before he smacks his skull with a pipe. And then just keeps beating him over and over and over, far after he stops moving...
