- Memetic Mutation:
- Pretty much all the memes related to history of japan come from the various jingles in the video, such as "jesus!", "hire a samurai!" and "how 'bout I do anyway?" (the latter of which is also a popular reaction image).
- The video's iconic line about japan itself, "how about sunrise land?"
- Many variations on "open the country. stop having it be closed."
- "And now I'm going to [verb] [noun], and then hopefully [noun]," they said. And failed. And also died.
- "[X] died in a tornado".
- "Can you maybe chill?" "How about maybe you chill!"
- "Knock, knock — it's [X]."
- Nightmare Fuel: The moment where the United States drops two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki has Bill going completely silent for a moment, then simply stating that there were two before silence falls again, only letting the sounds and visuals of the explosion slowly fade away to further emphasis how serious this event was. Counts as Heartwarming and Tear Jerker that Bill is respectful of how traumatizing the bombings were, when he normally engages in Crossing the Line Twice.
- Tear Jerker: Although the part where United States drops 2 bombs at Japan, and Bill goes silent a moment and then stating that there were two before goes silent again makes people sweat and shake, some realized that Bill is having his Heroic BSoD, which makes us feel sorry for him (see Nightmare Fuel subpage).
