• Slow-Paced Beginning: The first episode, depending on your feelings on learning more about fictional future car racing mechanics, worldbuilding, and the characters through a race in progress, suffers from this. The episode spends so much time explaining the NEX Race dynamics and introducing supporting characters that the actual advertised main protagonist and her backstory are briefly introduced right at the end of the episode. Not helped by the character initially being focused on being a literal faceless racer who retires after the first race of the series.
• Special Effect Failure: A commonly cited issue with the show is that while the designs for both the characters and cars are fine; the way they're animated, rendered and lit look a decade behind most other 3D titles. With some reviews comparing its animation to EX-ARM's adaptation.
