  • Complete Monster: Rabbit is the younger brother and primary henchman of the Doctor, and a willing supporter to the Doctor's various terrorist attacks for extortion. Introduced leading his men in herding a playground full of children into a bus to target a tycoon's child for ransom, Rabbit guns down a teacher to silence everyone and helps the Doctor strap a Time Bomb underneath the bus, the resulting explosion killing everyone, including hero Li Kit's family. Rabbit would later assist the Doctor's heist of Hotel Grandeur's jewelry exhibition on its opening day, spearheading a massacre of the lobby's staff before taking over the penthouse where all the guests are gathered, personally executing the hotel's unarmed security chief for being unable to unlock the display cabinets. When Li Kit interrupts the raid, Rabbit casually guns down fleeing hostages and later traps Helen in a room full of poisonous reptiles, trying to kill her in order to shut her up.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: The jab regarding how Jackie Chan does not do any his own stunts is actually based on how he would alternate between stunt doubles during scenes. This is something that is already known among the Hong Kong film industry at that time. However, the other two jabs of him being a drunken alcoholic and womanizer is a bit harder to swallow in the later decades, where he is noted to have crashed a live concert while drunk along with the reveal of his affairs and negligence of his children.
  • Special Effects Failure:
    • In the prologue, one of the two bomb squad officers escorting Jet Li accidentally steps on a landmine... and is replaced by an incredibly blatant mannequin when he explodes. Another similar instance occurs when Jet Li takes down several mooks guarding the lobby by way of Car Fu, in a long shot several mooks are portrayed by obvious mannequins - painfully obvious when Li rams into one of them with a close-up - you see the joints in his plastic fingers. And then there's the rubber dummy the Doctor throws out the penthouse when negotiating with the police... (the movie attempts justifying that the villains are throwing a corpse, with the Doctor saying he'll "throw a live hostage next time", but a dead body doesn't bounce or flail like that)
    • The guard dogs chasing Helen (Chingmy Yau) and her cameramen are obviously friendly. Their tails are wagging with their tongues sticking out even when chasing the actors, with the angry barking dubbed in.
