- Growing the Beard: The show gets more diverse plots and stronger character development in later episodes .
- He Really Can Act: Jane Lynch usually plays characters with some type of dark edge (whether good or bad)—yet here, she's cast as Goldie's nice, but otherwise normal mother. Despite this, she really gives a great warmth to the character.
- Overshadowed by Controversy: The show's cancellation after just two seasons despite stellar ratings is a result of Disney being sued by the production companies behind the first season after having screwed them over.
- Sweet Dreams Fuel: The show's fluffy, lighthearted nature is laid on so thick that you can cut it with a knife. That doesn't stop the show from being enjoyable and sweet, though.
