• Alternate Character Interpretation: It's never clarified if Koronos' habit of shattering every new drinking vessel after using it only once is a case of Wicked Wastefulness or paranoia of any attempts to poison him.
• Harsher in Hindsight: In the first book, Hylas recalls Telamon voicing his belief that Issi, who's always talking or otherwise making noise, might actually be hurt if she tried to keep quiet. The final book reveals that as the result of witnessing awful things and refusing to talk to anyone in order to stay hidden, Issi has lost her ability to speak.
