• Anti-Climax Boss: Most likely intentional with Old Goat, who is hyped up as your nemesis in Goat MMO Simulator, but when you finally track him down in his mountain lair, he never even pays attention to you, and he dies in one hit. He looks imposing, but that's it. He's much scarier when you unlock him, however, as he damages everything he steps near.
• Awesome Music: The carnival and dance music. It will come back into your head at random times.
• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment:
  • Many of them, but some of the weirdest are the Goat Castle and the satanic ritual circle in the woods.
  • And then, in the update, there's the Slender Goat. Bonus points in that, unlike every other special character in the game, it isn't a special skin you can equip (it's a fusion of Space Goat and Ripped Goat with a unique vocalization). It does nothing but follow you around and in no way impedes your progress.
• Catharsis Factor: You can take your revenge over the "unstoppable" drifting car by placing a boulder in its way.
• Game-Breaker: As far as the achievements go, Angel Goat makes several of them extremely easy, since it pretty much eliminates gravity from the equation. The high score achievement in particular takes all of 30 seconds to accomplish with Angel Goat. Simply leap off a tall building, activate the float power, then hold down the flip button while holding both right and forward. These two will combine into a series of flips that build so quickly you actually have to stop after a few seconds or the score will overflow and reset to 1 when you land. The same trick can be used to reach level 101 in Goat MMO Simulator.
• Good Bad Bugs: The developers deliberately leave in any bug or unstable game physics that doesn't outright crash the game. That said if you do crash the game...you get an Achievement.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • One of the Goats added in the Goat City Bay DLC was "Builder Goat", a blockier version of the goat who can create blocks, in a spoof of Minecraft. In 2021, Minecraft's 1.17 Caves and Cliffs update officially added goats to the game as a mob.
  • The Ninja Turtles being compared to Shrek was also done in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
• Nightmare Fuel:
  • The way the messed-up physics contort you and the humans you interact with can sometimes be this, even though they're also funny.
  • The Graveyard, where the music stops, a blue hue takes over the screen, and Slendergoat can be found.
  • The island off of the coast of Goat City Bay, due to the Body Horror-inducing mushrooms, especially if you're mycophobic (afraid of mushrooms).
• Older Than They Think: A prominent tagline promoting the GoatZ expansion says that it is, "The first survival game on Steam not in Early Access", even though there do exist such games released before then such as Terraria, This War of Mine and The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. Justified in that the tagline was meant less as a boast and more as a Take That! at the overabundance of Early Access survival games on Steam.
• That One Achievement:
  • The Flapmaster. You need to score 10 points in the secret Flappy Goat minigame. The only problem is, the player character in Flappy Goat has a hitbox larger than its sprite, which means if you even come within inches of an obstacle, you'll lose and have to start over. Furthermore, the game isn't played in "fullscreen", and since the R button is used to play the game, your goat's special abilities if any in the real world may interfere with playing with the game since this same key triggers these abilities. And to top it off, while Goat Simulator's slow down function slows the entire game world down, right down to the sound effects and music, it does not slow down Flappy Goat.
  • The other big achievement is Try Hard, which requires you to collect all the collectable trophies. While the trophies stay collected, you aren't even told how many there are, and to top it off, one of them isn't even found in the main map^note when heading to become the Queen of Goats, search the left hand side of the throne room. Thankfully, you can simply reset the game to regain access to such areas.
• Viewer Gender Confusion: The goat is very often mistakenly assumed to be male. Even getting an official anthro form for her appearance in Fortnite doesn't help in this regard, because said form is muscular with a modest chest size. This seems to have been reduced with the sequel, however, due to her being more clearly referred to as female there.
