YMMV / Giga Bash

• Awesome Music: Area-51 S-Class is a short but intense song used in Rawa's reveal trailer to great effect. In game it definitely makes it feel as if you are up against a overwhelming boss, or that you are the powerful boss character!
• Magnificent Bastard: Pipijuras is a taunt-happy alien tasked by his race to deliver a beacon to earth that'll teleport it to them, only to end up being captured by the government and brainwashed into a weapon. Breaking free after a fight with Gorogong, it beats him using the artifact he was attracted to and escapes to repair the beacon. Outwitting and outmaneuvering everything the G.T.D.I throw at it, utilizing its long-range attacks and the environment to its advantage, it eventually repairs the beacon and reaches the Giga Core, first by evading a nearby S-Class Yeti by tiring it out and then using the Giga Energy against the Core's guardian. Attaching the beacon to the core, it successfully teleports Earth right to his people, leaving it ripe for an invasion.
• Moment of Awesome: The team, having achieved great success in their core game, unveiled the first Guest Fighter from other kaiju properties. Right out the gate, they brought the kaiju back into the fighting game scene after over a decade of absence. Godzilla has returned.
  • And how could the team top that inclusion? Ultraman of course.
• Spiritual Successor:
  • The game is very reminiscent of War of the Monsters and the Pipeworks ''Godzilla'' Trilogy, which were big inspirations for it. The latter becomes Hilarious in Hindsight considering Godzilla and 3 other kaiju who were in those games showed up as Guest Fighters.
  • The inclusion of characters from the Godzilla and Ultraman franchises has also ultimately fulfilled the dream of failed Pipeworks Godzilla successor Colossal Kaiju Combat!.
• That One Attack: Gigan's blocking light, aka The Buzzsaw, is a large hitbox in front of his body that both allows him to move and applies a bleed effect to anyone it touches for more than a few ticks. Because the move can be held, and is actively applying bleed the entire time, it quickly becomes obnoxious to deal with on wake-up, while falling or recovering from a combo, or even just attempting to fight Gigan head-on.
• Unexpected Character: Camearra's appearance as the final character of the Ultraman DLC Pack was certainly unexpected in that, despite being a well-liked character, her popularity among the fandom is outclassed by that of the other Ultraman guest fighters, with many players expecting more popular monsters such as Gomora or Zetton or even Ultraman Tiga's more well known foes Golza or Kyrieloid instead.
