• Hilarious in Hindsight: In one episode, Ken mockingly sings a couplet from "The Red Flag" to Jakey Smith. Robert Lindsay, who played Jakey, went on to play another Smith in Citizen Smith, the theme tune of which is a whistled version of "The Red Flag".^note  Smith's cohorts in Citizen Smith also include a boy named Ken and a devout Christian; however, in the later series, these two are the same character.
• Retroactive Recognition:
  • Squadron-Leader Baker is played by John D. Collins, who would later be best known for playing Fairfax in 'Allo 'Allo!.
  • Dr. Purnell from "Crash Exercise" is played by Ben Aris, who would later be best known for playing Julian Dalrymple-Sykes in Hi-de-Hi!.
