Xtreme Series

  • Abandon Shipping:
    • Gareth and Sage were heavily shipped at one point due to becoming allies. This was basically completely sunk after "Racing Through the Pain?".
    • In a lesser example, since plenty still ship them, Hazel and Kaden's ship lost a lot of steam after Kaden began a canonical relationship with Devereux.
    • Most of the people who shipped Isaac and Yu disappeared upon the former beginning to act clingy towards the latter and began to berate his friends too.
  • Alas, Poor Scrappy:
    • Most people pity Greta after witnessing first hand the extent that Dante did injure her.
    • Even his biggest haters admit that Devereux's injuries in "Two-Sided Challengers" were so bad, that they couldn't help but feel bad for him
    • Max's elimination has actually caused quite a few people to feel bad for him, despite a lukewarm reception at best.
    • Regardless of her actions throughout TXA, most people can't help but feel bad for Cynthia, considering how badly it ruined her reputation.
  • Alternative Character Interpretation:
    • Is Hyde an actual pedophile, or is it mostly just an act played up by the guy in order to disgust others?
    • Is Kaden's personality truly a manifestation of a rotten life, or is he truly just a terrible person regardless of that?
    • Just how much of Max's sudden personality change is due to how the others treated him, or due to the fact he's basically going through a late puberty?
    • Is Nazira truly Asexual, or did she just begin believing it in order to mask her own self-pity after Kanaya decided to pursue Isabel instead?
  • Arc Fatigue:
    • Giselle's entire plot as the Big Bad Wannabe is largely seen as annoying to get through and bland.
    • Cynthia's grudge against Izaya is largely seen as the worst plotline of TXA, and as one that went on for way too long for most people's liking.
    • Even though it only was on-screen during TXWT, basically everyone hates the conflict between Isaac and Giselle.
  • Ass Pull: Sally's elimination in TXI in a nutshell.
  • Awesome Ego: Tempest!
  • Base-Breaking Character:
    • Hyde is largely either seen as an offensive pedophile character who makes Delta seem disgusting for ever making him, or is seen as a hilarious fail villain who people shouldn't take so seriously.
    • Kaden is potentially the most base-breaking character in the entire season. People either think he's an amusing Big Bad Wannabe Camp Gay, while a lot more seem to find him an offensive and outright unlikable prick. His reputation significantly improved upon beginning a relationship with Devereux.
  • Cargo Ship: Hazel and his wand, Alexander the 24th.
  • Draco in Leather Pants: Surprisingly completely inverted in the case of Gareth. Fuzzboy knew this trope existed, and tried his hardest to make sure him and Delta avoided this.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:
    • Tempest became one during the merge of TXI, and never really stopped being one, primarily since she became hilarious! Her relationship with Zetsu is also equally beloved.
    • Bari is considerably well-liked due to his adorable personality and friendly disposition, along with readers sympathizing with him due to his absolutely horrendous treatment because of his terrible hygiene.
    • Doc is beloved by the fandom due to the complete lack of censorship surrounding him and his rather goofy but still overall very friendly personality. His original characterization as someone who only speaks in opposites was also extremely popular to the writer's surprise. By extension, it seems his status with Mimi as an Official Couple has led to her becoming rather popular herself.
    • Droog is considered easily one of the greatest antagonists in the entire TPI fandom, due to his relatable and realistic personality issues and strategic gameplay.
    • Hazel is one of the most beloved characters of the series due to his likable personality, Heel–Face Turn development, his father-son relationship with Izaya, his hilarious moments of stupidity, and more! He's one of the few characters who basically everyone seems to love.
    • After his surprisingly early elimination, Izaya immediately gained a significant boost in popularity. However, it seems upon the revelation that he's actually been on the island looking after Juvia ever since he got voted off only improved his already decently large fandom.
    • Juvia started off as incredibly Out of Focus, but as the series went on(AKA when Fuzzboy jumped on as co-writer), she quickly began to become one of if not the most developed character of the entire first season.
    • Rounding out the family, Sage is seen as one of the most well-developed characters in the series with a solid mix of both positive and negative attributes that make her feel more human compared to the rest of the cast.
    • Chad is considered possibly among the most hilarious characters in the series, while also having a large fandom due to being a Lovable Jock who likes helping people out and calling them his "bros".
    • While his popularity has waned over time due to a lack of significance, Decker is seen as one of the most likable characters in the series who helped Kai onto a path for development.
    • Upon the realization that "Rest" wasn't the real her, Louise has oddly sparked a rather large fandom, most people finding her absolutely adorable and incredibly likable despite her very limited screen time.
    • Maria is bar-none the most popular newbie of TXWT, as people find her an odd mix of being hilarious, adorably socially inept, and mysteriously interesting in terms of a backstory. The fact she's dating another girl certainly helps her popularity.
    • Similarly, while she may not have that much of a presence yet, Violet is seen as very cute and fairly enjoyable in terms of her interactions.
  • Fanfic Fuel: Somehow a fanfiction gives plenty of this as well.
  • Fountain of Memes: Tyson has caused quite a few.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The series has a surprising amount of popularity in the Philippines.
  • Growing the Beard: "Two-Sided Challengers" is a massive improvement compared to everything before it. And from that point onward, characters have become more three-dimensional, have begun to develop to insane degrees, and so many interesting plot points began to form based around the contestant interactions with one another.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • "THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP/LOVE!!!"
    • "Fucking Max..."
    • "Does Delta has a shit fetish?"
    • "Batman(Izaya) and Robin(Hazel)!"
    • "Evil Ducklett!/"Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkllllleeeeeeeeettttt!"
  • Nausea Fuel: Episodes #1-14 of Total Xtreme Island...
  • Portmanteau Couple Name: Primarily for the official couples/fan couples of the show.
    • Chage: Chad and Sage.
    • Danper: Dante and Harper.
    • Dimi/Moc: Doc and Mimi/Mimi and Doc.
    • Dria: Droog and Alia.
    • Isaya: Isabel and Kanaya.
    • Izvia: Izaya and Juvia.
    • Tempsu: Tempest and Zetsu.
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap:
    • Thunder, who spent basically the entire series being a gigantic Jerkass, gained a boost in popularity in the eliminated campers episode, after he told off Giselle and apologized to Ashley.
    • Hyde has recently grown a surprising following.
    • Devereux was actually meant to be an intentional version of The Scrappy, and it did indeed work at first. However, as of episode 23 and ever since his and Kaden's ship became so widely popular, he isn't nearly as hated now.
    • The second Giselle stopped being a villain was the second people started to like her.
  • The Scrappy:
    • Gareth post Face–Heel Turn, as he's now seen as a pathetic and ultimately generic villain.
    • Sally and Jet, due to their rather bland and completely forgettable personalities.
    • Cynthia used to be an Ensemble Dark Horse, but then her entire plotline during Total Xtreme Action ended up being focused on her more negative traits. Problem is that it showed too many negative traits. By the end of the season, most of her fanbase was completely gone, with most now seeing her as a whiny spoiled brat who made too much of a big deal about Izaya and being better than him.
  • Slow-Paced Beginning: Episodes #1-14 of TXI are largely not looked upon fondly by the community, citing bland characters, a lack of real development, a lot of missed opportunities, disgusting imagery, etc. And then Episode 15 happened...
  • Squick: Multiple episodes, but the first seven episodes of TXI is a standout due to just how far it goes with it.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: So many of them! Not even Fuzzboy joining as co-writer could completely fix the huge amount of them.
    • The love triangle between Isaac, Reyna, and Yu felt like it never ended with a proper conclusion, and many feel it should have been handled better in general.
    • Kaden's crush on Gareth and his view on his own homosexuality makes many believe he could have been an infinitely more interesting character. Too bad it's never really expanded on.
    • Haazel, Izaya, and Juvia working together to take out the antagonists is dropped after one episode, leaving many rather depressed, as they thought it could have been a really fun plot line. Inverted though; In that Delta ACKNOWLEDGED this one , and after Fuzzboy joined on, the two gave Izaya and Hazel a plot that was very well received.
    • Sage's alliance as a whole felt half-baked and rushed, which is sad when people actually preferred it over Kaden's alliance as a whole.
    • Juvia not doing anything after Izaya's elimination felt incredibly disappointing to her fans. Inverted by the merge, where Fuzzboy made her become an Ascended Extra due to being so Out of Focus.
    • For some, Giselle discovering Izaya's existence on the island after his elimination ONLY to get eliminated that episode.
    • Max breaking down from everyone pushing him felt rushed to many people.
    • Many believe Ace becoming much more cut-throat after losing both of his Morality Pet(His sister, Ashley, and his "girlfriend", Cynthia) could have been handled much better. His conflict with Max is also seen as this.
    • Decker and Kai's love plot was basically completely dropped after the third aftermath. It isn't even brought up later on, depressing most of the fanbase, who actually did ship the two.
  • Ugly Cute: Tempest is a spider, which by definition isn't exactly the cutest thing in the world, but several members of the cast have said themselves that she is oddly adorable with how she acts.
  • Win Back the Crowd: After Cynthia's elimination in TXI, a lot of fans begun to stop reading, or at least weren't nearly as supportive. Episode 15 basically won everyone back though.

Fuzzy Memories Series

  • Abandon Shipping: While it didn't have many supporters to begin with, Chad x Cynthia lost basically all of it's traction after the former's elimination.
  • Alternative Character Interpretation:
    • Does Brick truly begin to transition back into a jerk at times due to getting too comfortable and thus thinking it's fine, or is it some kind of bizarre coping mechanism considering his less than enjoyable life?
    • How much of what Doc does is due to him just wanting a reaction, or him just genuinely being a jerk to others?
  • And You Thought It Would Fail: The creators themselves actually believed the product had no chance of being well received or even doing too well. To their surprise, while the story didn't do as well as the "Xtreme series", it easily passed the rating and reviews of the "Alphabetical series", and actually did pretty decently for the newest story of the bunch.
  • Arc Fatigue: Amber and Logan's romance plot began to drag on viewers by the end of the first quarter of "Total Drama Island". Similarly, Chad and Cynthia's plot of similar nature was equally as unwell received possibly due to similar reasoning.
  • Archive Panic: With a total of 78 episodes across three completed seasons, and an upcoming 52 at least, it's pretty easy to be intimidated by the scale of the series.
  • Ass Pull: Some people feel that Gareth's other half(Gein) was out of nowhere and not properly hinted at in previous episodes.
  • Awesome Ego: Tempest! An arrogant little spider who has trained all her life to be the strongest due to a hostile environment, and constantly claims herself to be the most dangerous "demon slayer" in the land...And it's surprisingly accurate! She's easily the strongest character in the series, constantly hunts creatures in order to claim personal rewards, and when she's determined, nothing can stop her!
  • Base-Breaking Character:
    • Freya's reception is largely down the middle among fans due to her lack of real importance to the story and lacking some of her personality from the main series, but neither side truly has a more popular opinion, largely due to the lack of discussion based around her.
    • Juvia is split between this and Ensemble Dark Horse. While a large majority of the fandom has expressed their interest in her and finds her likable, most find it undeniable that she isn't as good of a character in this series as she is in the main one, leading to a minority believing her to not be that good of a character.
    • Sage became this quickly after her elimination in "Total Drama Island". The biggest reason for this is due to some being disappointed that she didn't get developed as much as the main series, while others are fine with this version since they feel she had her time in the spotlight.
  • Character Rerailment: Notable scrappy Cynthia was completely retooled back into her original personality in this series, and was expectedly welcomed back warmly.
  • Cult Classic: The story was quickly accepted by the TPI fandom as a whole, and despite it's short existence, it has already grown to be one of the most reviewed and better received stories in the entire community.
  • Draco in Leather Pants: Oddly, a minority of the fans have messaged the two creators about how they find "Gein", Gareth's other half...Attractive? Fuzzboy has gone on to make fun of this claim on some level, not understanding in the slightest where it's coming from.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:
    • The Geek Alliance(Alfred, Nedrick, and Zetsu) have all been widely well-liked by the fanbase due to their likability and surprising relatability, with the former two notably being among the most popular early boots.
    • Both Chad and Quincy are widely liked due to their positive attitudes and likability, quickly endearing them to most readers despite them being mostly Out of Focus.
    • At least compared to her main series counterpart, Cynthia is absolutely beloved by the fandom for her plotline, her rerailment as a character, her relatability, and her interactions with the other contestants.
    • Oddly, despite the Intended Audience Reaction being an attempt at trying to turn him into The Scrappy, Kaden is actually surprisingly popular among fans due to his personality being played for laughs and the humor surrounding him being well-received.
    • Just like in the main series, Tempest received notable acclaim for her bombastic attitude, her relationship with Zetsu, and her surprising complexity. She is by far the most popular character of the story as a whole.
    • Violet is by far the most popular pre-merge eliminated contestant, with praise being sent her way for her personality and surprisingly humorous interactions.
  • Flat Character: The large majority agree that Freya largely lacks a personality in this series, including the creators themselves.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: A decent portion of the readers only began to read the story in order to see alternate versions of some of their favorite characters and very little else.
  • Memetic Badass: Tempest, who's already the strongest character of the series, has been raised to practically god-tier levels of impossible power by the fanbase.
  • Unexpected Character: Nobody expected to see Gareth, easily one of the most hated villains of the original series, suddenly return for this series...And as a good guy?! To say that people were surprised is an understatement.
