• Harsher in Hindsight: In Into the Unknown, Shredder manages to utilize the scientific arm of the Foot Clan to obtain ice powers of his own, essentially making him somewhat of an Expy of Mortal Kombat's Sub-Zero. This ages quite ominously when, in Mortal Kombat 1, the New Timeline's iteration of Sub-Zero proves to be rather antagonistic to the point that he betrays his brother Kuai Liang as well as the rest of the heroes, and starts the Lin Kuei's Cyber Initiative.
• Heartwarming in Hindsight: Though it is justified in the fic that it takes place long after her Heel–Face Turn, Karai debuts in the fanfic already siding with the Turtles. This would later be the case in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, where that series' iteration of Karai starts already good.
• Hilarious in Hindsight
  • While this is merely an implication, the fic's killing of Hans would later prophesize Kingdom Hearts's implied death of Hans, rather than it being explicit.
  • The killing of Hans by the Shredder would seem somewhat poetic within the context of a Disney Twist Villain killed by a traditional Card-Carrying Villain, when Disney, after they have been criticized for overusing the twist villain in their movies, reverts to a traditional villain for Wish (2023) in King Magnifico. Adding to this is that unlike Magnifico, whose reception has led to copious amounts of Alternative Character Interpretation, the Shredder is consistently portrayed as a villain with little sympathetic traits to speak of.
