- Alt-itis: Players get 3 active character slots to start. On the other hand, all new characters face a rigorous auditing process, and if the player sticks with a character over the long haul, then they earn rewards, which can, if they choose, include more character slots. Several veteran players have half a dozen or more simultaneously active PCs.
- Memetic Mutation: In response to Marvel's "I Am An Avenger" ad campaign, Gizmo used his mad Photoshop skills to make "I am an Interceptor!" posters for the PCs on that team.
- Nightmare Fuel: Moloch's Champions features an in-depth exploration of a church converted by Terminus cultists. No black altars, no creepy sigils - it's shockingly like any other church... right down to the Sunday School murals where smiling children are whisked away into oblivion by the Black Madonna.
- Ugly Cute: With their low charisma and terrible social skills, the relationship between Gina Evans and Harrier probably falls into this category - unusual for a genre dominated by pretty people.
- The Woobie:
- Any PC with a Dark and Troubled Past probably qualifies for this trope, especially if that past includes Death by Origin Story for their family, their friends, or their entire race. Woobie PCs are most likely Iron Woobies and/or Stoic Woobies.
- Fleur de Joie was a Power Level 6 character who hung out with a bunch of PL10s. And she was unlucky in love, to say the least.
