• Alternative Character Interpretation: The above's dying words, that Dresden really does know what he's talking about, raise the question of how much his previous interactions with Dresden were a case of true skepticism, and how much part of his general grumpy facade?
• Nausea Fuel: The rampage of the Loup-Garou in the police station is one of the most explicitly violent and gory scenes in the series. It seems as if everyone in the station is horribly killed or traumatized for life.
• Sophomore Slump: Very commonly regarded as the weakest book in the series, being largely just a rehash of Storm Front before Butcher started building more serialization into the series with Grave Peril.
