• Adorkable: Hirotaro is funny and endearing in his attempts to learn the ropes of FFXIV. After Maidy saves him from a Treant Sapling, being unable to communicate for lack of a keyboard, he just runs in circles around Maidy before leaving. Later, after Akio gives him a hand-me-down keyboard, his first attempt at communicating is flubbed when the "A" key becomes stuck.
• Harsher in Hindsight: The show implying that Hirotaro has cancer by showing signs through stomach aches becomes harder to watch after Hirotaro’s actor, Ren Osugi, erupted a harsh stomach pain after a day’s filming and died of heart failure in February 2018, the real Maidy died from bowel cancer in 2020 and the dad died on January 2024.
• Memetic Mutation: The original english translation of the title was "Daddy of Light", which lead to a lot of mockery on the internet.
• Values Dissonance: Many Western viewers probably wondered why Hirotaro and Kimiko couldn't just use separate televisions so they wouldn't interrupt each other. It's typically common to see only one TV set in each Japanese household.
