YMMV / Family Guy S6E4/S6E5 "Stewie Kills Lois"/"Lois Kills Stewie"

Go To

  • Cargo Ship: Meg with the jumbo sized hotdogs.
Meg: I'm gonna pretend you're the New York Knicks.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • While suffering from amnesia after Stewie tried to murder her, Lois strikes up a relationship with a young man in North Carolina named Derek. It turns out that Derek is a neo-Nazi and brings Lois to a chapter meeting where the assembly leader verbally berates Jews. As uncomfortable as this was for Lois back then, she discovered a few years later she is Jewish through her mother. She also learns that her mother is a Holocaust survivor.
    • One of the people on Stewie's hit list is "The guy who watched The Simpsons back in 1994 and won't admit the damn thing isn't funny anymore". Not only would Family Guy itself be seen as "not funny anymore" as early as the following season, but when the two shows had a crossover in Season 13, Peter and Homer tell each other that their respective shows have sucked for years, leading to a massive brawl that ends with much of the city, their friendship, and what remained of the fanbases' respect for one another destroyed.
    • In one scene, it's implied that Meg is going to masturbate with hot dogs that she pretends are the New York Nicks. Unfortunately, a later episode reveals that, in the future, she will die of septic shock caused by masturbating with a frozen hot dog.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: One scene features Katie Holmes escaping from Tom Cruise. In June 2012, Katie announced she was divorcing Tom because he was too controlling.
  • Parody Displacement: Chances are that there are people who don't know that Stewie's "As Someday it May Happen" originates from The Mikado.
  • Squick: Invoked:
Quagmire: Man, I haven't dug through these cans since Lois died. Can't believe it's been 12 months since I've deliberately choked myself by stuffing her discarded makeup sponges down my throat.
    Cleveland: S'wrong with you?
  • Tough Act to Follow: Considered by some fans to be the last great episodes of Family Guy, as it officially wrapped up and even gave closure to its most famous Running Gag of Stewie plotting to kill Lois (for now). Those who don't loathe the later episodes simply feel like there's no point to it now.
