YMMV / Family Guy S 3 E 9 Mr Saturday Knight

• Alternate Character Interpretation: Is the Black Knight actor who rescued Peter only to be a complete asshole to him later the same exact guy in the suit... or is it a different actor entirely who's just an asshole to everybody? We never see the Knight's face and the time between Peter being saved and actually joining the Renaissance Fair (at least 16 years, since the flashback took place before Chris was born) is certainly long enough for someone else, likely even multiple someones, to have taken on the role of the Black Knight.
• Alternative Joke Interpretation: There's the gag regarding several knights'... parts start making sounds against their armor before reaching Mort, who awkwardly shouts out "Ding!" instead. As pointed out in the DVD Commentary, the crew weren't sure if it was supposed to be a "small penis" or "erectile dysfunction" joke.
• Aluminum Christmas Trees: The "Cleveland steamer" that Peter offers to Lois is in fact a real thing (if you don't want to look it up, all you need to know is that it's gross). Seth MacFarlane noted in the DVD commentary that the fact that it sounds made-up is probably the only reason it ever made it past censors, as they had previously shot down the far less vulgar, but much more easily-recognizable "half and half" they originally wrote in the script.
• Crosses the Line Twice: Peter's boss choking to death on a dinner roll (and just as Peter was about to be promoted)? Very unfortunate. The dinner roll being taken into police custody afterwards? Hilarious.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Margot Kidder's cutaway joke was already a Black Comedy reference to her real life mental breakdown. It hits even worse following her suicide in 2018.
• One-Scene Wonder: Ollie Williams saying “It’s gonna rain!”
