Just when it looks like Warden and Mistress are going to be separated for good, Cherice suddenly reveals that Mistress is pregnant. There was no indication of this happening up until that moment. Even Mistress had no idea she was pregnant until then.
It also just so happens that her mother had a rule that if her daughter was tied to anything at all (i.e. she was pregnant by somebody successful or something like that), she couldn't leave.
Ending Fatigue: For some reason, the fanfic feels the need to drag its feet after Chapter 10, which probably would've made for an okay ending.
They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Some readers argue that the fanfic would've been better off without the Warden and the Mistress having children at the end (because they think Mistress turning out to be pregnant in Chapter 10 was a bit of an Ass Pull on the writer's part) and just focusing on the two being Star-Crossed Lovers instead.
