  • Archive Panic: Good luck if you want to read the whole series in one sitting; there's close to 1900 strips stretched across two parts, nine volumes (eight complete), and numerous arcs.
  • Continuity Lockout: Another webcomic that Doc did, Rainbow Skies Forever, gets referenced repeatedly throughout the series. While it started with innocuous easter eggs for those who read it, volume 9 amped up its importance with the introduction of a younger version of its Greater-Scope Villain and Max directly witnessing its events during his time travel trip, making it required reading if you want to understand the full significance of these events.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:
  • Jerkass Woobie: Izzy frickin' Pritchard. The lady's a drug-addicted, sex-addicted, borderline anti-social mess who often creates problems for those around her. And yet, the poor girl also has bouts of severe depression and constantly voices thoughts of killing herself. We also see glimpses of her troubled childhood and it gets worse when we finally see it in full in Vol. 5.
  • Like You Would Really Do It: The culmination of the "Tetrapod Triumphant" arc, which features heavy-handed references to Izzy's death, instead ends on her marriage to Darcy and Tanya, with Len staring right at the viewer saying "Sike".
