  • Mac and Valerie's romance may also be a little harder to watch when one remembers that Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis' real-life relationship — they married midway through the shoot — ended about two years after its release, although they reportedly managed to stay on good terms.
  • The line "No man is worth getting into this state over ...except maybe Mel Gibson" is less amusing given the actor's racist, anti-Semitic, and misogynist tirades that became public many years later.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: A fly landed on Vice President Mike Pence's head midway through the 2020 Vice Presidential debate and stayed there for two minutes; it became a huge Memetic Mutation immediately and there was an online outcry to have Jeff Goldblum play it on that weekend's Saturday Night Live and reference one of his most famous roles in The Fly (1986). But Goldblum was in England shooting Jurassic World Dominion — no time to bring him over. The show's solution: Have Jim Carrey, already a regular guest as Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden, take over in the weekend's Cold Open with his Biden teleporting himself to the debate, merging with a fly, and undergoing a Slow Transformation into Jeff Goldblum. In effect, Wiploc was the Poor Man's Substitute for Mac!
• Retroactive Recognition: About a year later, the actors portraying Wiploc and Zeebo would be two of the stars of In Living Color!.
