YMMV / Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure

Go To

  • Awesome Art: Even from the beginning, the fight scenes between the Earth Defense Forces and the Rara Army robots are visually impressive.
  • Awesome Music: The opening theme song "DUAL!" by HARU&SAYAKA is a very cheerful and upbeat number.
  • Angst? What Angst?: So, Kazuki's just been sent to another world, his parents have no idea who he is, he has to fight constant battles for a chance to get home and he lives with two strangers, one of who tends to lash out at him and the other isn't that great a parental figure. Despite this he seems to spend more time thinking about mechas and standard harem protagonist problems. Considering that he was essentially a social outcast in his world and the mecha fights he has to deal with aren't particularly life threatening (at least at first) it's understandable that he isn't too saddened. The biggest worry he would have is how his parents are reacting to his absence, but Kazuki would be smart enough to rationalize that A) Dr. Sanada would probably give a cover story so the police aren't banging down his door (Kazuki was last seen with Mitsuki) and B) the quickest way back to resolve it is to just end the war.
  • Memetic Mutation: Jokes about the show being a cross between Tenchi Muyo! and Neon Genesis Evangelion have existed since the show's first airing, as have jokes about it being "Eva on antidepressants."
  • Nightmare Fuel: Beginning with episode 8 "Mitsuki", D starts having nightmares about a shadowed monstrous figure attacking many people and even causing devastating destruction to what appears to be an entire country. Sadly, the nightmares only get worse as the series goes on. Leaving the normally emotionless D, screaming in terror.
    • Episode 9 "Escape", Ayuko not only forcing her daughter to train in such a way that actually hurts her in the simulator. But later going so far as to threaten the lives of her friends and co-pilots, holding the other girls literally at gunpoint. She then hypnotizes Mitsuki into piloting the "Original", so in the end. Threating the other girls was completely pointless. Though it does demonstrate just how cold and ruthless the woman can be when she wants.
