• Angst? What Angst?: Zoila barely grieves for Pablo. Though they had split up shortly before, even Valentina is upset by Zoila's lack of mourning.
• Badass Decay: Adrian goes from being a creep and remorseless killer admittedly Philippe deserved it in Season 1 to being badly traumatized by the robbery and has a breakdown as a result.
• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • Stephen Collins as Philippe Delatour, a rapist who is on the screen either creeping on women or trying to rug-sweep his rapes, and who murdered Flora because she was going to expose him as the rapist and baby trap his son, Remi. Shortly after this storyline, Collins' career was ended when his ex-wife revealed he sexually abused minors for years.
  • Naya Rivera plays Bianca, who is kidnapped and brutally murdered in Season 3. Those episodes aired in 2015, five years before her tragic and premature death in 2020.
• Hollywood Pudgy: When Zoila gets pregnant in Season 2, Season 3 opens with characters commenting on how "fat" she's gotten. She looks absolutely no different (and is definitely not showing).
