YMMV / Denshi Sentai Denziman

Go To

  • Anti-Climax Boss: Banriki is blinded and cannot fight, and the Denzimen one-shot him with the Denzi Boomerang, while Queen Hedrian just escapes.
  • Awesome Music: The opening theme is a super catchy theme sure to get you pumped for the episode ahead.
  • Evil Is Cool: The Vader Clan are very cool and likable whenever they're onscreen, especially Queen Hedrian and her larger-than-life ham.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: There was talk of extending the series by another year. The same thing done with the Nickelodeon era seasons of Power Rangers.
  • Moment of Awesome: In the end credits, the heroes are cornered by the explosion. The next scene shows that they're still walking together as if it never happened.
  • Retroactive Recognition: Naoya Uchida, who played Denji Green/Tatsuya Midorikawa, is more known for his voice acting career particularly for voicing characters such as Soichiro Yagami from Death Note, Hayato Jin from Getter Robo and Askeladd from Vinland Saga.
  • Rooting for the Empire: Demon King Banriki was likely introduced in order to avert this. Between the hammy yet affable Queen Hedrian, Noble Demon General Hedrer and cute spies Keller and Mirror, the Vader Clan are just too darn likeable to make satisfying foes to defeat. Banriki gave the show a villain audiences could root against without issue.
  • Sequel Displacement: Of the early seasons of Sentai, Denziman is probably the one that shaped the direction of franchise the most. Most suit designs for Sentai teams are in some way influenced by the Denzimen's designs and the show introduced a lot of tropes that would become commonplace in later Sentai seasons (such as the villains being an otherworldly threat).
  • Suspiciously Similar Song: This show's opening song may or may not remind you of Rawhide.
