- Awesome Animation: The intro to the "They Talk"
spin-off by Zoran was drawn and animated by none other than the talented Harry Partridge! - Ensemble Dark Horse: From the Horror Royal Rumble 2023, Brenda Meeks due to her movie of origin, longevity in the ring, and the number of eliminations she racked up. James and Chelsea consider her a Memetic Badass to the point where they freak out when she is nearly eliminated and one point and react in disappointment when she is finally eliminated by Samara and Mick Taylor. She comes back in the Horror Royal Rumble 2024, much to the delight of fans, and takes out both Slow Ass Motherfuckin' Jeff and Michael Myers, but sadly gets eliminated almost immediately afterwards by the Invisible Man.
- Friendly Fandoms: With Crypt TV, for the latter promoting a few videos of his on the subject of their shorts and later casting James in The Look-See: Season 2.
- Growing the Beard:
- Early episodes of Dead Meat were fairly straight if comedic summaries of horror movies that went into little if any detail on the stories. Over time, however, they shifted to much more in-depth analysis that highlighted the themes and production aspects of the films, with James even going back and re-reviewing multiple series he had previously covered to meet his modern standards.
- The same goes for the Dead Meat Horror Awards. While a prestigious display of both Chelsea and James' talents for the 2022 and 2023 ceremonies, they were still based on the two's opinions rather than any voting process. The 2024 ceremony introduced a voting panel of well-known film critics and journalists, making everything seem fairer when it came down to selecting winners.
- Harsher in Hindsight: In his video where James talks about his plans for 2020, he believes that his channel would be safe from COPPA, since his content is very obviously not intended for young viewers. At the start of 2021, he announced in one of his videos that due to COPPA guidelines, he had to lessen the graphic nature of his videos so that they could be suitable for Youtube. While explicit versions can be found on Patreon, one has to pay to see them.
- One True Pairing: James and his girlfriend Chelsea are this to the fans, so you can imagine how much the comment section exploded when he announced their engagement on September 13, 2019.
- Take That, Scrappy!:
- In their Horror Royal Rumble 2023, where they pit thirty horror movie characters against each other in a royal rumble match in WWE 2K19 (modded so they could make it a mixed-gender match), one of them was Norman Bates... specifically, the version that Vince Vaughn played in the poorly-received 1998 remake. They made him a heel who gets booed by the audience as he steps out, and they cheered when Brenda Meeks threw him out of the ring within seconds of him entering. They also gave Corey Cunningham from Halloween Ends, a similarly divisive character, a heel's entrance, and when he too was quickly eliminated by Samara, James remarked "you know what, maybe you should've been introduced two rumbles ago, and more people would've liked you."
- In Horror Royal Rumble 2024, they made Jeff Denlon from Saw III, aka "Slow Ass Motherfuckin' Jeff", a Heel who gets booed by the crowd as he slowly makes his way to the ring (much to James and Chelsea's annoyance), and cheer when Fan Favorite Brenda Meeks comes running in and immediately eliminates him from the ring.
