YMMV can't be played with, and the entry that isn't played with argues with itself.

* HePannedItNowHeSucks:
** James got a lot of flak for calling Film/Predator2 for what it's worth, he admitted he was overly harsh and just going for the easy jokes in a later podcast episode and the 1989 Literature/PetSematary adaptation bad movies in the kill counts of said movies.
** This trope was actually inverted when James gave a rare positive review to Film/Unfriended in its kill count.

* GrowingTheBeard: Early episodes of Dead Meat were fairly straight if comedic summaries of horror movies that went into little if any detail on the stories. Over time, however, they shifted to much more in-depth analysis that highlighted the themes and production aspects of the films, with James even going back and re-reviewing multiple series he had previously covered to meet his modern standards.

** The same goes for the Dead Meat Horror Awards. While a prestigious display of both Chelsea and James' talents for the 2022 and 2023 ceremonies, they were still based on the two's opinions rather than any voting process. The 2024 ceremony introduced a voting panel of well-known film critics and journalists, making everything seem fairer when it came down to selecting winners.

* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments:
** When James found out about a channel that had been uploading short clips of his channels under the name of "Dead Meat Shorts". Rather than fill out a copyright strike against the channel; he not only recommended Dead Meat Shorts to his subscribers, he added it to his "List of Friends" on [=YouTube=]. Dead Meat Shorts were so awestruck and grateful that they posted a thank you video and because of James, Dead Meat Shorts got a boost in popularity. In another bit of heartwarming moments, this act actually inspired Dead Meat Shorts to express support for another channel called "Dead Meat Fan" when it was accused of plagiarising their channel. This lead to Dead Meat Shorts recommending the channel to their own subscribers. It was a ripple effect of kindness that made James comment "This is real nice to see."
** When James released a video on the Dead Meat video schedule and announced that Zoran will be taking over as host for a few months as James gets married, works on some projects with Chelsea, and takes some personal time for himself after feeling exhausted by his workload and stagnation as a creator. The comment section expressed complete support for Chelsea, James, and Zoran, with a majority of the comment section wishing James well and looking out for his well-being. When Zoran finally started doing the kill count for the Film/Tremors film series, the reaction was overwhelmingly positive, feeling that he was doing a more than adequate job at replacing James.
** During the interviews with the cast of Film/Scream2022, Mason Gooding reveals himself to be a Dead Meat fan, much to the joy of James and Chelsea.
*** Similarly, when doing interviews for Film/TheBlackPhone, Jason Baker and Creator/TomSavini revealed themselves to also be Dead Meat fans. Given James' admiration of Savini, this is especially poignant.
** After the COVID-19 Pandemic delayed their wedding by almost a full two years, James and Chelsea were finally married on the 21st of January, 2022! To say their fanbase was delighted and completely understanding of the extended break they'd be taking would be an understatement.
** When Chelsea got her chance to do the Kill Count for Film/AmericanPsycho, the comments were flooded with praise for how well she handled it, with many suggesting her and James, when he returns, alternate who does the kill counts.

** In Dead Meat ANSWERS YOUR QUESTIONS 2021, James is asked if there are any kill counts he said he'd never do but will get back to later. James states that he will not do any made by still-living abusers, naming a couple in particular in brutal fashion.
--->James: Fuck you, Victor Salva. Creator/RomanPolanski, I'll cover your movies when you're dead. I mean that.
** The Dead Meat Horror Awards, period. While a newcomer to the awards scene (and as James and Chelsea will tell you themselves, not the only awards show dedicated to horror and genre films), it's incredible proof of how far the channel has grown to the point where they have Creator/MatthewLillard and Creator/MikeFlanagan presenting for the 2023 ceremony.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: From the Horror Royal Rumble, Brenda Meeks due to her movie of origin, longevity in the ring, and the number of eliminations she racked up. James and Chelsea consider her a MemeticBadass to the point where they freak out when she is nearly eliminated and one point and react in disappointment when she is finally eliminated by Samara and Mick Taylor

* TakeThatScrappy: In their Horror Royal Rumble, where they pit thirty horror movie characters against each other in a royal rumble match in WWE 2K19 (modded so they could make it a mixed-gender match), one of them was Norman Bates... specifically, the version that Creator/VinceVaughn played in the poorly-received 1998 remake. They made him a heel who gets booed by the audience as he steps out, and they cheered when Brenda Meeks threw him out of the ring within seconds of him entering. They also gave Corey Cunningham from Film/HalloweenEnds, a similarly divisive character, a heel's entrance, and when he too was quickly eliminated by Samara, James remarked "you know what, maybe you should've been introduced two rumbles ago, and more people would've liked you."
