• Ensemble Dark Horse: After the rumble debacle in 2015, many fans became major fans of him after his Sanity Slippage and declaring himself the true winner of the rumble. This even continued today, as many fans ignored a brawl between Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins and instead noted that he had made a surprise return as a producer on RAW.
• Fan Nickname:
  • On the relaunched NXT fans have taken to calling him "The Shah of NXT" due to the fans in the Full Sail Arena love of chanting "Sha!" during his matches based on a noise he makes when throwing punches.
  • His tag team with Damien "Macho Man-dow" Sandow has been nicknamed "The Meta Powers".
  • Damien Nelson and David Herro of the Pro Wrestling Report Show like to refer to him as "Perfect Jr."
• Memetic Mutation: "This is the beginning of the genesis...of McGillicutty."
• Rescued from the Scrappy Heap:
  • Nobody really cared about Curtis for the longest time, even when he won the Intercontinental Belt, but his run with Ryback in the Tag Division won him some fans who liked their silly Odd Couple dynamic, and he recently got quite popular after going off the deep end and declaring himself the true winner of the 2015 Royal Rumble.
  • It all came full ahead when he and Bo Dallas left The Miz, who was drafted to SmackDown while they stayed on Raw, and formed the tag team "The B Team" which not only hit off with the crowd, but it has led to both men's resurgence in their careers and to winning the Tag Team championships.
