Axel has not received that much attention, with lesser gimmicks like the Social Outcast and the Miztourage.

* UnfortunateNames: [=McGillicutty=]? Seriously? That has to be the least intimidating name ever. Despite heavily promoting that he was the son of Curt Hennig, WWE promoted the name as him using his mother's maiden name to avoid being in Hennig's shadow.

* RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap: Nobody really cared about Curtis for the longest time, even when he won the Intercontinental Belt, but his run with Wrestling/{{Ryback}} in the Tag Division won him some fans who liked their silly OddCouple dynamic, and he recently got quite popular after [[SanitySlippage going off the deep end]] and declaring himself the true winner of the 2015 Wrestling/RoyalRumble.
