  • Game-Breaker:
    • Scrapper Drones reward Scrap at the end of a fight proportional to the damage they inflicted on the enemy ship. They trivialize Hard mode runs if found in the first Sector since they're the only way to earn Scrap from the ships that will eventually blockade every node and normally only reward a measly 1 Neo-N.
    • A Squadron with an Atemporal Engine is immune to any effect that affects their movement such as Asteroid Fields and stun effects. This includes the explosion from an enemy ship's Hull bar being destroyed, allowing you to pile on damage to the next Hull bar uninterrupted.
  • Good Bad Bugs: Advanced Stealth (found on Wraith Squadrons and the Geno-class's Akibara-Sung Core System) can instantly destroy enemy Squadrons and lock enemy Systems through exploiting the Waypoint pathing mechanic. This is due to that Stealth not automatically being lost if it deals its damage/Heat to adjacent targets during Tactical Pause.
  • That One Attack: Each chapter boss has a special ability which goes off at regular intervals. Some of them can royally screw you over:
    • Pope Zenon's Cryo-Wave temporarily freezes your active squadrons, leaving them at the mercy of his squadrons (which inflict extra damage to debuffed units). You can avoid this by ordering your squadrons to retreat, but they might not make it in time if they get bogged down in dogfights.
    • Tetsuo's EMP Deluge causes a massive heat buildup in all three of your battleship's systems. If you didn't invest a lot of Scrap into Heat Capacitors before fighting him, this attack will cripple you with system failures and multiple fires.
    • Okonkwo's Golden Veil ability makes his squadrons and battleship completely invincible for a few seconds. When this happens, all you can do is try to hold his forces at bay until the effect wears off.
