In the fourth movie, the captain is killed by a hatchling critter basically crawling into his mouth and chewing on the insides until he dies. Not only does the whole thing look ridiculous, it's never explained how this would actually kill him, nor why he doesn't just try biting down really hard, which would likely kill the thing (it's only about as big as large hamster.)
In the first film, it can get pretty eye-rolling how "Power of the Night" seems to be literally the only thing that's ever on TV.
Nightmare Fuel: See Stripped to the Bone for Critters 2. Though some "meat" is still left ... just enough for the red skeleton to twitch.
Lee's death in the second film, being viciously torn apart by the critters. Ug ends up having an emotional breakdown so bad that his Human Disguise gets undone from the resulting grief.
The fourth movie starts with Charlie trying to put the Crite eggs in the pod and suddenly getting trapped in the pod when the door closes prematurely, putting him Suspended Animation. The movie proper takes place in the year 2045 in space. At one point after the heroes open the pod they talk to Charlie and have to tell him that they are nowhere near Earth, he's been in the pod for more than 50 years, and everyone he knows is likely long dead. He basically replies with "Ok. I can live with that", and then Faints in Shock, proving that he's Not So Stoic, about a second later.
Ugly Cute: The Crites are designed to look this way.
