YMMV / Coal Chamber

Go To

  • Broken Base: Is Dark Days their most uninspired album, after which their breakup was unsurprising? Or is it their hardest and most underrated album?
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Despite having long retired from music as a whole, Rayna Foss is the most remembered bass player of the three that passed through their ranks, and the second most recognized member overall after, obviously, Dez. She was so iconic to the band that when she was reported missing at the beginning of 2022, old nu-metal fans went into a panic before it was clarified the next day that Foss was alive and well.
  • Epic Riff: "Big Truck," "El Cu Cuy," "Tyler's Song," amongst others.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Dez and Meegs have an on-stage reunion in Pomona during a Devildriver show. All of a sudden, metal fans found themselves missing Coal Chamber, who reunited a few years later for the album Rivals.
  • Narm: The lyrics were always a bit melodramatic and occasionally underwritten, but "Tyler's Song" is the apex. It's well-intentioned - it's about the life Dez wanted for his son after divorcing his mother - but the lyrics are so dorky and preachy it's hard to take the song seriously.
  • Signature Song: "Loco," their biggest hit and the opener to all their shows.
  • Tough Act to Follow: Their self-titled debut is the only one of their albums to go gold.
