- Hilarious in Hindsight: Their Indiana Jones spoof character ends up trying to make his father's legacy count and getting called "Junior" repeatedly while dealing with alien life and statuary of their heads, years to decades before the release of those movies.
- Moment of Awesome: The team's return at the end of Final Crisis.
- Parody Displacement: Rova Barkitt is a play on gossip columnist Rona Barrett, who isn't exactly a household name any more.
- Unintentional Period Piece: It was so much of its moment that it now seems almost an intentional period piece. Celebrities of the 80s are name-dropped and often caricatured in every issue, even ones who have fallen from the limelight (see above with Rona Barrett) and it featured things like the Crew going to see the premiere of E.C. the Extra-Cholesterol or a nod to the start of the video game crash.
