YMMV / Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2E3 "School Hard"

• Creepy Awesome: Spike and Drusilla are at the absolute peak of this in their introductory scene; between their creepy doting, blood-play, and Drusilla showing off her Mad Oracle powers while Spike asserts his badass flare. Even members of a damn vampire doom cult look unsettled and intimidated by them.
• Growing the Beard: This episode is generally considered when the show started hitting its higher potential.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Buffy chides Angel for not being able to pick up on social clues, stating that after two centuries of dating he should be able to figure out when a girl is being coy. We later learn in Angel that Angel literally has No Social Skills, and basically spent the hundred years he was resouled as a social recluse shunning all of society.
• Les Yay: Cordelia, usually vain and judgmental about other people's appearances, is genuinely impressed by Joyce's beauty when she first meets her.
  That's Buffy's mom? That woman knows how to moisturize.
• Narm:
  • One of the vampires seems to purposely swerve into the path of a cart kicked in his general direction.
  • Drusilla lunges for Sheila's neck at the same time Sheila whips her head to look at her. However, because Juliet Landau's head isn't dipped low enough to aim for the throat, it has the effect of looking more like the two would have ended up bonking heads if the scene didn't cut.
• Take That, Scrappy!: Spike establishes himself as the new Big Bad by eliminating the Annoying One.
