YMMV / Bob Rivers

  • Crosses the Line Twice: His stuff is loaded with comedy as dark as Starbucks coffee, but "Magic Comet Ride," making light of a Cult's mass suicide is so outrageous it falls here.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: Even though he's known for his Christmas parody songs, he suffers quite a bit from this. His songs play on many radio stations during the holidays, and while some are innocent (such as The Chimney Song), his other songs are not as innocent.
    • "The Twelve Pains of Christmas" mentions adult concepts such as hangovers and paying bills and has cursing in it. What's worse is that some Christmas albums intended for families (as well as some G-rated Christmas radio stations) include this song!
    • "The Twisted Chipmunk Song" contains Alvin and the Chipmunks swearing and has the Dave of the parody tell them that they will be sold to a lab to be used for shampoo testing if they aren't quiet. The following track on that CD, "Chipmunks Roasting On An Open Fire", has Dave cooking the chipmunks alive and eating them, sharing them with the fictionalized Nat King Cole who sings the song.
