YMMV / Bleach: Happy to Serve You

Go To

  • Audience-Alienating Ending: The All Just a Dream Gainax Ending had many complaints in its comment section, due to not properly concluding any of the existing plotlines like the Love Dodecahedron, and beforehand everything seeming to go out of it's way to try and make the plot align with canon even when it has previously gone Off the Rails, like the Sternritter girls showing up and kidnapping Harribel, or Yamamoto dragging Senna off due to her being a Canon Foreigner.
  • Alternate Character Interpretation: Is Urahara seriously trying to help the Women's Association stay afloat by hiring them in his new restaurant, or is he only in it for personal gain and the female Soul Reapers just happened to be on hand? It's probably both, but with Urahara, nothing about him is absolutely clear.
  • Genius Bonus: Samhain is based on a mythical character from the real history of the Halloween holiday. Hardcore just tweaked him to work in the Bleach universe.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • A Running Gag is the fact that Senna is "non-canon" and her being irritated whenever it's brought up or used as a mark against her. The post-series Light Novel, Bleach: Cannot Fear Your Own World, would reveal however that the movie Senna originated from, Bleach: Memories of Nobody, is canon, making Senna a Canon Immigrant and invalidating the idea she's "non-canon". Even before then, Chapter 626 would see both Ichigo and Yoruichi reference having been to a Valley of Screams, with an omake confirming they were indeed referring to the events of the movie.
    • Senna ultimately reincarnating as Ichika Abarai was intended to be a joke on how similar they were design wise. Tite Kubo would then reveal that Senna's design originally was meant to be for Rukia and Renji's daughter before she became her own character, and that Ichika's resembling her was deliberate, pretty much being a Palette Swap of Senna, making Ichika being Senna's reincarnation oddly fitting.
  • Les Yay: Gin overhears Lilynette saying that her and Starrk are basically the same person...while trying to set him up with a more mature Arrancar. He immediately imagines some implications this carries.
