• Audience-Alienating Ending: The ending of the first game revealing that the lovable characters you encountered and befriended in the tavern were All Just a Dream did not go over well with fans, and neither did Loki successfully escaping and leaving you trapped in his prison, as both things basically made everything the player experienced utterly pointless. Famous video game countdowner Josh Scorcher called it the single worst ending he ever encountered in a video game, even worse than the infamous ending to Mass Effect 3.
