- Squick: The foundation in the 'fake-up' is made from gravy. Just the idea that the girls basically smeared gravy all over their faces...
- Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Lois gets this big time, along with her behaviour in "Cry Wolf". She doesn't want the girls to wear make-up because it apparently is them growing up too fast. But the girls don't want to start wearing it regularly or doing anything inappropriate; they just want to look nice in their school pictures. And it's not motivated by fear of embarrassment or peer pressure - but because of something they themselves want. Lois could have lent a helping hand in showing the girls how to do it for the sake of the photos, but instead she just forbids them with weak justifications.
