- Accidental Aesop: One episode was about Allegra saying her favourite vegetable wasn't the blue zootabaga, which the rest of her class said, but the carrot- simply because she never had a zootabaga before. Then she ends up being pressured by her class to try it and when she does, she likes it. The intended aesop was "Don't be afraid to try new things", but it instead comes off as a case of disagreeing with a bunch of other people is wrong.
- Accidental Nightmare Fuel: The harsh-sounding rooster crow and dramatic stinger in the Jumbo Pictures logo.
- Riff's design can slip into this for a number of viewers.
- Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The show was very popular with Hispanic audiences in the U.S.. It ran in reruns until 2008 on MTV's Hispanic-oriented channel, Tr3s.
- Hilarious in Hindsight:
- Lindi bears some resemblance to Isabelle.
- Marty Robinson played both Riff in this show and the Cat in the Hat in The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss.
- Anthony Asbury and Kathyrn Mullen would go on to play another big brother/little sister duo; Lionel and Leona in Between the Lions.
- Moe: Both Allegra and Lindi are absolutely adorable.
- Periphery Demographic: While the show is aimed at preschoolers, the show had quite a few fans in Nickelodeon's main 6-to-11 demographic.
- Retroactive Recognition: Angela Santomero, the creator of Blue's Clues and Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, got her start in the educational TV business working on this show with Jim Jinkins.
- Signature Song: Besides "Wonderful Day", which became the show's Bootstrapped Theme, "Together as Buddies, Forever as Friends" from "Where's Godfrey?" and "Best Friends Forever" tends to be one of the most remembered songs of the show. Helps that Nick Jr. often aired it as a music video during breaks.
