What Could Have Been in this series.
  • The creators were originally going to make Cam gay (complete with a coming-out story) before the network threatened to shut them down, basically telling them they were giving the show a lot of leeway already.
  • Inspired by Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the creators had the idea of having the characters begin attending university later into the show, with Lee and The Serpent being forced to become roommates and thus adding a minor sitcom element to the show.
  • Season 5 would have focused on Lee and his friends having to team up with Mann Wurst and Finnwich and go under the pyramid to stop the Reptilian Conspiracy from waking up from hibernation.
  • According to the creators, in episode 25, Lynch was originally going to push Lee into a crate on a departing ship rather than locking him in the Green Apple Splat Factory, but "the network" freaked at the idea and shot it down.
  • Season 4's plot was going to be much different than in the final product with a prominent role for Niles Peg and a special title for Lee being introduced.
  • In an interview with the podcast Movie Madness, Charles Johnston revealed that there was consideration for Holger to be revealed as either a secret agent or the son of one, with the idea that he was secretly an adult masquerading as a teen (allegedly inspired by Executive Meddling claiming Holger looked too old compared to the other characters) and his goofy personality was a facade.
  • Originally, the creators pitched the idea of the series taking the characters to space, with the reveal that aliens were involved in the conspiracy. However, Teletoon objected to the concept on the grounds of already having several shows involving aliens and outer space. Thus, in Charles Johnston's words, they "decided to take it downstairs instead of upstairs", and thus replaced the aliens with prehistoric lizardmen.
  • According to Charles Johnston, he and Daniel Bryan Franklin considered doing a live-action Alternate Continuity reboot of the series, but due to them being unable to get the rights to the show back from Nelvana, the idea never got off the ground.
  • During the show's time on air, the creators were visited by an investor that pitched the idea of a graphic novel spinoff of the series. Unfortunately, due to the fact the show ended up getting cancelled not long after, the idea fell through.
  • Broadcast rights for the show in the United States were originally going to be handled by Disney XD, but they ultimately went to Cartoon Network instead.
  • The pilot displays several notable differences from the final product.
    • Lee Ping was originally voiced by Evan Smith instead of Jonathan Tan, giving him a different voice as a result. Apparently, according to Charles Johnston, Evan was set to voice Lee for the full series, but the actor ended up picking up a gig with a Disney cruise performance and decided to leave. As a result, new auditions were held for Lee, and Jonathan Tan was selected.
    • Although she had the same voice actress as the final product, Vice Principal Victoria originally possessed a slight Texas accent.
    • Several characters possess slight differences in design or voice from the final product: Brandy originally wore white instead of pink; Greta had two eyebrows rather than a unibrow; the Hazmats were originally yellow rather than white; and Zed, Cyrus, and Irwin had different voice actors.
    • Mike Smukavic and the late Blair Kitchen were the original storyboard artists for the pilot just before they got poached to work on big budget cgi-animated films.
