The Secret World of Benjamin Bear is a Canadian animated series by Amberwood Entertainment and Secret Bear Productions, produced with the participation of Bell Broadcast and New Media fund with animation by Phillipine Animation Studio Inc.
The series originally started as a series of half hour specials between the late 1980s to the late 1990s; The Teddy Bears' Picnic (1989), The Teddy Bears' Christmas (1992), and The Teddy Bears' Scare (1998). It follows Benjamin Bear, a living teddy bear owned by Max Tanner, who was passed down to him from his father Simon. He lives in the Tanner household with his friend Howie, who is owned by Max's sister, Eliza. Together, the two explore the world, with Ben teaching Howie how to be a good teddy bear.
The series ran on Family Channel from 2003 to 2009.

- Shortcuts Make Long Delays: In one episode, Ben and Howie take what they think is a shortcut to get to the teddy bear picnic, which Edgar advises them against doing. Naturally, they don't listen and take the shortcut. They end up marching around the woods in a big circle, and are so exhausted by the time they get to the picnic they fall asleep.
- Sliding Scale of Living Toys: Of the Masquerade variety. Teddy Bears are alive and capable of movement, but one of their golden rules is to never let humans see them move. To help with this, they "go teddy" when they see their humans are close.
- The Tonsillitis Episode: When Eliza gets a sore throat, it turns she suffers from tonsillitis. At the end of the episode, she goes to the hospital to have them removed and mentions the obligatory ice cream.
- Upper-Class Twit: Sebastian Biggleboar is very snobbish towards the other bears.
- Whole Episode Flashback: In one episode, Edgar tells Ben and Howie the story about the day he ended up in Abigail's possession when she was young and how she eventually found out teddy bears are alive.
