The episode opens with a live-action scene in the neighborhood yard. Two cats – Mad Dreamer Waldo and companion Felicia – go about their simple pleasures, sometimes with a third animal companion, when bulldog Tyrone crashes their party, corners one of them, and stuns them into motionless standoff.
At this point, Waldo would envision himself as any of five alter egos based on how he viewed the predicament. The scene transitioned to animated segment, with Tyrone in the role of the arch-villain.
With the defeat of the Villain of the Week, the scene transitioned back to live action, where Waldo would invariably trick Tyrone and watch him get carted off.
Later known as The New Adventures of Waldo Kitty, after Filmation got into legal trouble with the estate of James Thurber (the original Walter Mitty author).
