Person to Bunny is a 1960 Merrie Melodies animated short directed by Friz Freleng, starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Elmer Fudd.

In his residence in Hollywood, Bugs Bunny is being interviewed by Cedric R. Burrows on his TV show, People to People, when Daffy Duck suddenly shows up and wants to have a chance to be on Burrows' show, with Elmer also getting in on the conflict after Bugs publicly insults him.

Tropes:

  • Ass in a Lion Skin: At one point, Daffy dresses up like Bugs to prove that anyone can be a rabbit. Unfortunately for him, Elmer comes in, mistakes him for Bugs, chases him and blasts him.
  • Berserk Button: Elmer does not take kindly to Bugs publicly insulting him on TV. Possibly because deep down, he knows that the insult is accurate.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: While he's dressed in a Bugs suit, Daffy imitates Bugs' "What's up, doc?" twice.
  • Bowdlerization:
    • On ABC's The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show, two scenes were censored: first, Elmer getting shot by his own gun after Bugs plugs up the barrel with his carrot; and second, Daffy getting shot by Elmer after Bugs tricks Daffy into thinking that Elmer's gun is a camera.
    • On the syndicated Merrie Melodies Show, the scene of Daffy being shot by Elmer was partially edited to remove the actual gunshot, but the audio remained intact, the gunshot being replaced by a still shot of Bugs.
  • End of an Age: This would be the final cartoon where Elmer is voiced by Arthur Q. Bryan, who passed away in November of 1959.
  • Everybody Do the Endless Loop: Daffy's dance number is a continuous loop of him tap dancing.
  • Finger in a Barrel: When Elmer tries to make Bugs apologize to him under the threat of being shot, the latter sticks his carrot in the former's gun, leading to the usual outcome.
  • Gravity Is a Harsh Mistress: In a recycled gag from The Big Snooze, Bugs tricks Elmer into running off a cliff as he's running through a hollow log. Both times, Elmer realizes he's in midair, he manages to run back into the log before he falls.
Bugs: It'll take him all day to figure this one out.
  • He Who Must Not Be Seen: All we see of Burrows are his arm and legs peeking out from his armchair, with the rest of his body being obscured behind it.
  • High-Pressure Emotion: Elmer literally blows the top of his head off when he sees Bugs indirectly making fun of him on TV.
  • Instantly Defeathered Bird: Daffy loses a majority of his feathers when Elmer blasts him for the first time.
  • Must Have Nicotine: Burrows is frequently seen with a cigarette in his hand as well as several discarded cigarettes next to him.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Cedric R. Burrows is pretty much a spoof of Edward R. Murrow.
  • Performance Anxiety: At the end of the short, Daffy finally lands a part on People to People, only to regret it when Bugs informs him that there will be forty million people watching him.
  • Recycled Animation: Daffy's dance number is recycled from Show Biz Bugs.
  • Shout-Out: People to People to Edward R. Murrow's Person to Person.
  • White Gloves: Daffy wears these as he prepares to dance for Burrows.
