Johnny Express is a short movie about a space deliveryman sent to a strange planet. It can be seen here.

Tropes:

  • Accidental Murder: Murder? Try accidental genocide. Johnny accidentally wipes out an entire planet full of tiny aliens with the flames coming out of his ship's engines as he takes off back into space.
  • Baby Planet: The alien customer lives on a planet so small that it takes Johnny only a few seconds to walk halfway around it. He ends up accidentally incinerating the entire planet with the flames coming out his ship's engines as he takes off.
  • Bland-Name Product:
    • Johnny has a Roomba and an iPad in his spaceship, as well as several food containers with knock-off logos resembling Ben & Jerry's ice cream, Maruchan instant noodles, and Fanta orange soda.
    • The alien convenience store carries bags of Fritos, Doritos, and Cheetos, with labels written in the aliens' language.
  • Cyclops: All the little purple aliens on the planet Johnny's visiting only have one eye each.
  • Deadline News: A broadcast is cut off to static, and we see a family watching frozen in fear.
  • Establishing Character Moment: The outside of Johhny's ship declaring him to be the best delivery in space, and then we see inside of Johnny sleeping while surrounded by clutter.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: The label on the back of the TV that the alien family is watching reads "Electronic Circuits Evil Genius".
  • Hope Spot: The army thinks they beat back Johnny, only for his ship's engines to completely incinerate the planet as he takes off and leaves.
  • Kaiju: What Johnny is from the aliens' point of view.
  • Last of His Kind: The alien customer by the end of the short, thanks to Johnny accidentally wiping out his entire species while he was stranded on a drink can floating in space. At least he got the package he ordered.
  • Lazy Bum: Johnny does not care much about his job. Although he does have an award in his spaceship proclaiming him to be the "Best Deliveryman of 2105", so maybe he's just having a bad day.
  • Lilliputians: Exaggerated. The members of the alien species Johnny encounters are so ridiculously tiny that he needs a futuristic microscope with 3,400% magnification just to be able to see them.
  • Men Can't Keep House: Johnny's ship is quite cluttered, with various food containers scattered on the floor.
  • Mike Nelson, Destroyer of Worlds:
    • The alien's city is so tiny Johnny does not realize he is destroying it.
    • The alien who orders the package and that causes Johnny to arrive.
  • Militaries Are Useless: The army is way too tiny to stop Johnny, and barely annoys him.
  • Mime and Music-Only Cartoon: Almost, except for some automated dialogue coming from Johnny's computer and the aliens' language that consists entirely of high-pitched squeaking.
  • Product Placement: Doritos, Burger King, McDonald's, KFC, and Starbucks all appear, but their names are shown in an alien language.
  • Single-Biome Planet: The Baby Planet the customer lives on appears to be entirely desert.
  • Space Trucker: Johnny's job which involves delivering packages.
  • Trash of the Titans: The floor of Johnny's spaceship is covered in empty food wrappers, drink cans, video game systems and what look like comic books.
  • The Unreveal: We never get to see what was in the package the tiny alien customer ordered from Johnny.
