Grim & Evil is an American animated series created by
Maxwell Atoms with two different segments that spun-off into two shows:
The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy and
Evil Con Carne. It ran from August 24th, 2001 to 2003 with 26 episodes.
Both of the segments contain examples of:
- Animated Anthology: Consists of both "Grim" and "Evil" segments.
- Art Evolution: The 2002-2003 episodes have a more cohesive art style.
- Couch Gag: Almost every episode begins with Mandy talking, which would be carried forward when Billy and Mandy was spun into its own show.
- Crossover: Mostly averted! Mandy would meet Hector and his pals in "Chicken Ball Z".
- Evil Laugh: The intro has Grim and Hector showing their evil laughs.
- Later-Installment Weirdness: The last few episodes only had "Grim" segments.
- Three Shorts: Most of the episodes have three shorts together.
- Musical Episode: "Little Rock of Horrors", "The Pie Who Loved Me" and "Dream a Little Dream" were all aired together.
- Not Quite Back to Normal: In Devolver, Part 1 and Devolver, Part 2, General Skarr keeps devolving into different species due to accidentally being exposed to Major Dr. Ghastly's devolving ray. In the end, Ghastly and Hector manage to expose Skarr (who has become an amoeba by that time) to a re-evolution ray, turning him back to his normal self... except he still has a monkey tail (though only Hector and Ghastly seem to notice it).
- Valentine's Day Episode: "Grim in Love", "The Trouble with Skarrina" and "Love is Evol Spelled Backwards" were all aired together.
