Dive Olly Dive! follows the adventures of Olly, a young submarine-in-training, and Beth, his best friend, and fellow sub-in-training. Stationed at the Special Underwater Research Facility (S.U.R.F.) under the guidance of Diver Doug, the young subs explore the underwater world.
Created by Cosgrove Hall and Yoram Gross, the show has aired on Sprout from June 7, 2008 to October 28, 2012. It has then dived its way into Qubo and ran on its lineup from April 7, 2014 to its shutdown in 2021.
This show provides examples of:
- Expository Theme Tune: Adventure begins in the sea / With Olly and Beth, you and me / We are happy and free / Come on, have fun in the sea / Come on and dive, Olly, dive!
- Pink Girl, Blue Boy: Beth has pink eyelids, and wears a pink bow unlike Olly, who has blue eyes.
- Sentient Vehicle: Olly and Beth are submarines, Skid is an underwater scooter, and Suzy is a helicoptor.
- Title Drop: This is also Beth's Catchphrase. This is usually said when she and Olly are given an assignment by Diver Doug.Beth: Dive, Olly! Dive!
